Location: Rhinelander, Wisconsin | 89 teams hit the water of the Eagle Chain this morning under nearly perfect conditions. Cool temps following a weak cold front and light winds ahead of another disturbance that will be moving through this afternoon made for a perfect launch of the Mercury Marine/Eagle River PMTT.
The bite has been very good, and expectations are it will take between 3 and 6 fish to win and at least a double to make the top ten. Tom Dietz reported in a MuskieFIRST interview last night that the pre-fish was excellent, with several fish caught and sighted, and the standard Eagle River area June patterns solidly in place.
PMTT Coverage is brought to you by St Croix Rods!

Bite is going strong with a couple doubles reported. The bite started slow, but the fish turned on and it looks like a number of fish have been boated since noon. |

On an incredible pace with many doubles and some quality fish as well. There are reported to be at least two teams with three fish, and the possibility one team has 4. Several nice fish have hit the net, one reported to be near 48".

Location: Rhinelander, Wisconsin | 56 fish were caught today, with 2 teams catching 4 each. The incredible total set a new PMTT 1 day record, and it looks good for tomorrow for the record event total to fall. The largest fish caught was a 47" tank, the fish that anchored a four fish limit and the Day One lead for Jason Baratica and Markus Malyuk. Second, also with a double is Doug and John Dibble, 49 points behind the leaders. Third is Weyers and Techlin with three fish, five points back from second. Fourth is Jason and Jim Obrenski with a triple, fifth is Reiter and Cummings with a double, sixth is Haageinson and Mcccartin with a double, seventh is Adamovich ad Barber with a double, eighth is Landmeier and Taylor with a double, Amug and Heath are in ninth with a double, and Raley and Remorfell round out the top ten. Twentieth took a double, and if the fishing is as good tomorrow, the leaderboard will scramble quite a bit.
The weather looks great tomorrow with a morning shower and some clouds around, holding the pattern that was prevelant today. The anglers are off the water by 1 PM, just in time for the skies to clear and temps to hit 72 degrees.
Watch for the morning report and images live from Junk Man's boat beginning about 7 AM.
Thanks to St Croix Rods for making this coverage possible!

| Maybe a stupid question, but I am curious. I was going through the photos and all the photos of boats near the docks all have every compartment in the boat open. Why is this done? Is a tournament rule? |

| Gotca, thanks. Never fished a tournament so didn't know. Awesome coverage Steve. I love seeing the Pirate ship when I am up there. It's funny to hear them out in the middle of the night diving off the thing, hootin and hollerin. |
