| I've finally decided to get a pair of costas and I want 1 pair for fishing in all conditions. I'm left debating between the 580g green mirror and the 580p amber. Looking for advantages and disadvantages of each. Thanks. |

Location: sneaking out to get on the water ;-) | I have a pair of the fathoms with the green mirror and love them.I can see the follows before most the guys I fish with.I fish alot of stained water and some lightly stained water.Once in a while I make it out on a couple of gin clear lakes and like the green mirror for them all.They really shine in the stained flowages.Even fished vermillion last summer and was picking up on the followers as fast as the guide.Great glasses you should love them.Russ |

| I think both of these have pretty much the same tint which I love so the real question appears to be glas or plastic. The pro of plastic is lighter and that's it. The pros of glass are more durable, better resolutions, more scratch resistant, don't bow off your face when going fast! I have several pairs of Costas and would not buy anything other than glass lenses. My first Costas are about 10 years old now and I've had to send them back twice after breaking the arms but the lenses are perfect yet and I don't baby them. The only probelm I ever had with glass lenses is last year when I sat on my new 580 glass Costas the first day I had them! OUCH! But then no glasses are going to stand up to me sitting one them. |

| big gurls, Really? That goes against the common thought that glass is more scratch resistant. If poly is more scratch resistant then it must be just about bullet prove because the glass Costas are unbelievable in this regard. I'm not trying to "call you out" but do you have something to back up that the polys are more scratch resistant? Because if that's the case I may have to try out a pair of polys. |

simply not true, polys have come a long ways but they are not as scratch resistant or as clear as glass, yet |
