Location: Sycamore, IL | I am looking for some suggestions for a lure that can be trolled at 5mph but only dives down a couple of feet max on a longer line. Any ideas or favorites that you care to share would be appreciated! Thanks.

| you could just short line any crank behind a planer board if you want to run out from the boat. works great i do it all the time. |

| Shallow invaders, Muskietrain mf shads and Big game surface twitchers are great for trolling shallow.
Good luck

This. I do this all the time with large cranks that only come with big diving lips to keep them less than 5ft. |

Location: Sycamore, IL | Thanks for the suggestions! The lake I've been fishing has a lot of floating weeds. I have done the planer board thing and struggle with having to constantly be resetting boards and lines. I would prefer to be able to put some shallower running lures on my down rods with more line out but the ones I've been using keep getting to deep and fouled up in the standing timber. I guess I am really looking for something that if cast would run just under the surface on the retrieve but would troll well with out blowing out and only dive to about 2ft max. Any other ideas? I haven't tried the Wiley type baits yet, so maybe this could be the answer. I fish solo most of the time or this wouldn't be a big deal.

Location: WI | Have you tried trolling spinnerbaits? They stay shallow and you can go pretty fast with the weighted ones. |

| Blue Water Baits High line bait, for a ten inch bait that only goes down 5 to 10 feet with a hundred feet of line out, very hard to beat. awesome built bait. |
