| I just picked up another St.croix big dawg rod. I was surprised when I fished it and found they have a new trigger grip. I am not a big a fan so far. Who else has fished the new tigger grips and what do you think?

Location: Ft. Wayne, Indiana | I like it, I have smaller hands and it allows me to palm the reel better. The new blanks they are using on the new model feel much better. The Legend Tournament will continue to be the only rods I use as long as they are available. |

| Not a fan either. I've got four Big Dawgs and a Slingblade with the old style, and a Nasty with the new style...I like the Nasty but not it's grip. |

| I had a big dawg break last fall. When I got a new one back from St. Croix it had the new handle. I didn't like it when I picked it up. Once I got out and fished with it, I have completely changed my mind. As stated above I can palm a reel really nice. Also nice not haveing the grip dig in between fingers. I like the new grip. |

Location: sneaking out to get on the water ;-) | I like the new grips a lot.Not only can you palm the reel better but on my split-grip models you now have enough foregrip to hold that you can switch positions throughout the day. |

| if you feel you must have a trigger on a muskie casting rod, st. croix did the right thing by angling it back so your entire hand is in front, it can't help but be more comfortable compared to that trigger between your fingers all day. if you want the ultimate in casting comfort, eliminate the trigger all together. on every rod i own (all croix legends) i took a dremel with a cutting wheel and took the triggers off leaving nothing more than a little nub in it's place. it lets me make subtle adjustments when palming the reel for the best comfort with the trigger totally gone. with the death grip on our reels and the rods tucked between our sides and arms working baits and fighting fish why does anyone feel the need for triggers at all? i'm just sayin... |
