Canada | I just talked to a Musky guy at Okuma not Mark the other guy who designs the EVX musky rods with him and he was talking about a pendulum cast something about leaving 2 or 3 ft. of line out then tipping the lure back as the lure is straight back go right into a side cast to fire it out. I guess the rod you have would dictate the range of techniques available to you in how your going to cast or is there room to fine tune to make it any easier?

| His advice sounds interesting but never tried that. I use a 9'-3" okuma rod (and the longer rod definately helps) and just kinda ease the Pounder behind me and sling it out there with more of a lobbing motion instead of the typical snap. This lets the rod load up and "sling" the bait out there for me. Found it to be much less wearing and reduces dawg balls. Hopefully that kinda answers your question. |

Location: Elko - Lake Vermilion | Ya,... It's more of a lob..... than a snap,... I have found that a Throne Brothers 9 ft. xh works just great with little effort and wear and tear on the ol body. |

That's pretty much how I thought it was done as for the pendulum cast I'll call him back to clarify. Will see what I can do to put a Youtube up of the technique. |
