A good friend of mine owns a cabin in iron county Wisconsin. I'm going up June 21st It's 12 miles northwest of Mercer. 2 miles west of island lake on a small lake called pleasant lake. He's lived up there for years and wants to fish musky more. What are some good lakes we can fish up there? We are using a Lund with a 115 on it so it doesn't have to be small water. And we can move the boat around to different lakes. Thanks for your input.

Head to the flambeau flowage, it's as close as you can get to a Canada like landscape and fishing experience. Fishermans landing is closest, quick access to the big water and close to the river end as well. Mgreat body of water!!!

Patience and red cabbage.
Moose is a nice action lake by Island, landing is skechy though.

From using the above links, I've deduced you should fish Island, Pine or Moose, all of which are designated Class A musky waters by the WDNR. If you don't mind a drive maybe try the T.F.F. to the South or the Gile Flowage to the North. Probably better size potential given their increased acreage (3ooo and 13,000).

What I'd probably do is listen to the guys who PM you and can give you some real insight. I've always heard the T.F.F. is great fishing and if I were that close, I might drive there and back every day or every other. Good luck on your trip and have FUN!

lots of options..Gile flowage to the north is underrated and a bit of a "sleeper" ...coffee water so you might have 10 follows but not see any ; ) worth a day...TFF is a big body of water and hard to dissect if you don't have much time.
Pine is decent...easy to fish, lots of options right around mercer, echo, spider, wilson is good for action but i haven't heard of many over about 42...but all lakes are darker "iron" colored water, hence the name of the county...can't go wrong with orange blades bucktails, black n orange dawgs, topwaters......
