I have a 60 hp mercury 4 stroke it makes a high pitch noise at low speed when ran for a while almost sounds like a chirping noise has anyone else had this issue?

sounds familiar, I figured after a while it was the hood latch, and greased it myself and the sound went away. I kept saying 4 strokes were supposed to be quiet, I drove me to cast more until I fixed it.

As far as I know...that is a completely normal sound. Typically occurs at low rpm after motor gets warm from running. My last boat had a 60hp 4 stroke merc and that and every other one like that I have heard made the same sound. My buddy had his checked out by 2 different shops and both said its normal and not to worry about it.

No not a warning horn almost like a belt chirp? had it in the dealer said its fine I have heard that this is normal for this motor guess iam to anal on my gear
