I've made quite a few baits but i want to make the same shape twice which is hard freehand so, how are you guys doing it?

I cut the shape I want out of 1/4 inch thick piece of wood. Then use 3m double sided tape ( the kind without foam between the layers of tape) to attach to the wood I want my lure cut out of. Then use the band saw and cut as close to the template as I can. Then I use the router table with a tracing bit and just follow around the template.

ya gotta get templates. we use lathe duplicating on both machines we use. verniers are also a great tool.

If you go to youtube and search for How its made: Skateboards. You see that they rough cut it first, and then use a template on top of the rough cut and a router to cut the final shape. The bearing guide, is adjusted to follow the template while the blades cuts the shape.
