What is everyone using for replacement hooks on their baits. There are so many different brands and not having any experience with having to replace hooks I have no idea which ones to buy. Just looking for your input. THanks

Eagle Claw 774 up to 5/0.
VMC 9617BZ for 6/0.
Mustad 3551 for 7/0 and 8/0.

They are all available at Musky Tackle Online.

Sportfishing magizine published test comparing the penetrating ability of closed - gap and open - gap J style hooks with cutting - edge (triangular) points and cone - shaped points. Closed gap hooks with the point bent in slightly toward the eye, penetrated deeper and more easily then did cutting-edge hooks, with the points parallel to the hook shank. Cone - shape points also resisted blunting and tissue tearing slightly more then did cutting - edge points.
That is why I use Eagle Claw 374 hooks that are a beaked hook with a cone point.
The 374 are 2X so they won't hurt the action of baits and are very easy to cut out of a Musky mouth. They come in size 5/0 and smaller.
