Hi Everyone,

Just picked up a couple used calcutta TE's and found myself curious about the amount of freeplay in both of the worm drives. Is there supposed to be some freeplay back and forth of the shaft?

Thanks

Steve

yes there is alot of free play on a Levelwind system. Replace the Levelwind Pawl and you should be fine.

Hiya,

I know there is some freeplay in the worm drive system between the pawl and the worm drive shaft itself, but the freeplay I am curious about is the worm drive shaft itself...should there be freeplay from left to right with the shaft? Both of mine I would say move left to right close to 1/8" My abu reels didnt do that...

Thanks

NO. sounds like the side bushings are worn, sounds like the reels need a little TLC. replace part # BNT 2705, 1243, 1708, 2701, that should take care of the side play.
