| My trusty merc finally broke down on me, luckily it was at the launch after a day of fishing. What happened was I came into the launch dock to drop my buddy at the dock put it in neutral and then put it in reverse to back away from dock to get into a holding pattern to trailer the rig. When I put it in reverse it wouldn't shift into gear, then I tried forward and it was the same thing, it just wouldn't get out of neutral but it would rev up. I am thinking it is the throttle linkage but I am no boat mechanic. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks. | |

I think your thinking is correct. Almost sounds like the linkage is unhooked/broken somehow as it will not shift into either gear...
