| I've heard from some people there are lots in here, and some real pigs, but there has never been much confirming evidence, and i hardly ever go there. Can anybody confirm this? Thanks. |

| If you look at the stocking reports it appears the DNR wants to make a musky lake out of it. I have fished it a couple times and only caught a 20"er. I plan on trying it a couple time just because it's about 1/2 hour closer than Twin Valley. |

| There are some fish cribs by the dam, but yeah most of the lake just seems to be a featureless basin. I tried trolling the breaks last time I was out there, but didn't have any takers. I may just have to hit the open water next time and see if they are out in the middle. |

| Who ever told you it has lots of fish has never fished it. If you are a muskies inc member look up the lake for registered fish it is pretty sad. I lived by the lake for 15 years and fished it alot. i can count the number of muskys i have caught on one hand. I would go to twin valley or madison lakes if you want good musky fishing. Thats why i moved to Madison last spring.
Dnr just started stocking it more but not very many. There is more fish under 30" then over right now. It gets very very muddy and the skiers and tubers will drive you crazy, it is 300 some acres and 6-7 people will be skiing at same time.
My brother and his wife got their canoe fliped over by wake boarders last summer.
When you go there and see 1 or no other musky fishermen you will see why.
as far as structure there is trees and stumps in the water around the entire lake. Bring a good lure retriever you will use it alot
Good luck

Location: Lake Country, Wisconsin | I know there was a big fish caught out there sometime within the last 10 years, I wanna say approx 55" but it was kinda debatable on how it was measured/ how legit..etc...
Either way i think you were given exaggerated information |

Location: Madison WI | water clarity was horrible last weekend, like chocolate milk on the inlet side, a little better towards the dam. not much for weedbeds, very little submergent vegetation. Had a 20something fish take a swat at my lure on figure 8. Quite a few pleasure boaters. I was the only one with a musky pole I saw. Quite a few submerged brush piles. They are easy to find on the side scan. I wouldn't go on a nice day again, too much pleasure boat traffic. |

I decided to give it another shot for a couple hours on Sunday. This sentence by snopro pretty much sums it up. It was a frickin mad house out there. Too hot to stay out long, trolled cranks and spinners for about 2 1/2 hours. Thought I had one rip by the #*^@, but nothing there when I got to the rod.
Felt like there were a bunch of amatuers at the launch, but what are you going to do? You can't get mad at a grandpa trying launch his boat on a windy day with the grandkids, or a family that can't control a big pontoon with the wind/waves and three little kids in tow. The people that don't have sense not to park their rig in the middle of the turn around and spend 20 minutes prepping their boat are another story.
Might try it again in mid or late September. Water getting too close to 80 degs to risk it anyway.

| I fished this lake for three straight days in late October last year and managed 2 raises in 24 hours of fishing. One dink and another probably 40 inch fish. All in all the lake is a desert wasteland for the most part and the fish we contacted seem to relate better to shoreline structure. There are lots of fish cribs within 75 feet of shore and I imagine muskies would relate to these fairly well. The rock pile on the #*^@ face might be a decent warm water summer spot? Stocking records since early 2000's indicate there should be a good number of fish in the lake but I would bet money that a large number of these fish escape over the #*^@ during high water periods. |
