I have a 02 alumacraft mag 165, just wondering if i can get away with smaller than a 9.9hp for trolling?... Thanks guys...

I bought a 2005 navigator 165 and it has a 4hp 4stroke yamaha. the guy i bought it from used it a lot, said it worked great for him goes about top speed of 4mph, but it super on gas, i'm not even sure if i will ever use it!! it will troll down to about .7mph

6hp would do just fine on that...you could go with an 8 as well..
