Location: Eagan, MN | Don, I've only been serious about trolling for the past couple years, but I'm using the RAM holders. Takes 2 seconds to put on/take off, and when they're off the mount is small, streamlined and snag-free. I mostly troll jake sized stuff, and bang it into rocks and gravel bars whenever possible, and the holders have held up great. |

Location: Pewaukee, WI | I like the Folbe rod holders. Been running them since 2008 with out problems.
They make a mount that can be flush mounted on the gunnel. The rod holder itself can be removed quickly.
DON PURSCH trolling??? Whats up with that, you must be getting old!

Location: Cedarburg, Wisconsin | Folbe's on mine too since 2008. Bulletproof. They make several mounting options available. The neat thing is you can get the rod out of the holder under a tremendous strain with no problem and the holder doesn't chew up the rods. We regularly troll d-10's at 5mph with no holder/rod problems.
Was that a Slammer decal strategically positioned in that photo?  |

| I just got a Folbe flush mount (have always used DE) and am not a big fan thus far. The rod holder is fine but the flush mount is not easy to lock/unlock if your gunnel is carpeted. It's a major pain right now, need to use a screw driver just to move the lever even though I loosened up the bolts a bit, which I wouldn't think is a good idea. Am going to have a buy a side mount instead. |

I had to build up my mounts with some stainless washers placed between the gunnel and the mount. They worked great once I did that. I really like my folbes. |
