No Good Deed Goes Unpunished

I think I have that quote right. First I would like to thank Tony Grant, Muskie First, and the guys that ran the Ashton Auction. I finally had the chance to use the trip that I was the high bidder on. But, I knew the trip was not going to go too good when coming down from Chicago and about an hour south of Lexington Ky, the hub on my boat trailer blew and tire was about ready to fall off and an hour later, I was following my boat and trailer with my Blazer with it being on a flatbed tow truck. Well so much for getting down there early and start fishing, we spent monday afternoon in the garage
and finally got to Tony's that night. But, optism was still high because Tuesday was the day my dad and I were going out with Tony. But here was the killer Thursday through Monday people were catching and seeing big fish and Tony's other guests caught a 47 incher that Monday afternoon while we at the garage waiting for my boat trail to get fix. Then Tuesday morning came with the PMA high, we were greeted with a downpour and cold tempitures, so we waited for it to ease up and then went out. Tony did his best but no fish. The next day it wasn't raining as hard but the wind increased, again fishless. We were going to fish an extra day but I wore out my 87 year old dad. Well maybe next year. One of these years I am going to figure out Cave Run. Again I want to say thanks to Tony and Muskie First, and if there is another Cave Run trip in the next auction, I will again try to be the High Bidder. God Bless and see ya on the water this late fall (Silver and Webster), Al[:0]

Alan, luck is still with you: your trailer didn't drag you off the road or into a semi, so you arrived alive; and, you still have the great fortune of getting to fish with your dad. Count that blessing, my friend! I hope your next trip gets you fish. m[]

Second the comment of luck being on your side: Safe and sound and able to fish with your dad. Wish I could fish with mine again, we shared some mighty good times on the water together. Some memories last a lifetime. And they're more important than the fish anyway.

Hmmm watching your boat on a flatbed tow truck is just what I did last Saturday am ( blown bearings ). I bet it was the first time that guy had to deliver a vehicle to a boat landing. LMAO Thanks to my wife for taking my traller to the shop while I fished with my client for the day.

As for the Ashton fund, Tim McCormick ( the high bidder on my trip ) is on his way back to WI with one hell of a memory. This morning he witnessed a 40 pound class fish come clear out of the water 3' or so some 100' behind the boat after hitting a 14 inch lure ( BTW thank you Stan ). But the fish decided she wanted nothing to do with the net and departed without a picture session. Tim did release a 47x21 yesterday and his partner did the same with 2 smaller ones and we washed lures on Wednesday. A great time was had by all.

Thank you Tim from me and the Ashton fund. [:p]

Al, sorry to hear you had some problems. I suppose it could have been worse had the wheel come off. I hope to see you out east before the year is up.[:)]
