Has anyone tried to paint the interior of a black Lakewood box? I have a black interior and the white is way brighter for seeing. Anyone tried to paint the interior?

Not sure why you couldn't. My only suggestion might be to use the Krylon paint for plastics. You might also want to paint a small item and lay it on one of your plastisol swimbaits to make sure Krylon paint is OK and will not eat into any of your baits. Just to be on the safe side...

I would be real careful of painting it as a lot of times one paint will react with another paint. It would be a crying shame to put all your lures in it and then open it up in a month and have all the paint on your lures eaten away.

actually to be truthfull you should never put rubber baits in a lakewood they will tear them up
lol this made me think....i dont store my rubber in lakewood box either but i sure as hell dont mind a fish shredding a 25$ pounder....hahahaha its almost like washing and waxing the bottom of a shovel...
funny how us musky guys think...
if i was going to paint one, and i have not- i would probably try a material similar to line-x bedliner material, like a rubberized undercoating. you can buy it in spray cans but i think james had a good idea about testing first. hope that helps.

You might want to try contact paper ? My Mom used to line the bottom of the kitchen drawers with the stuff years ago it seemed to last against a drawer full of various knives and four boys growing up ?

How do the lakewoods tear up rubber?
I have 2 monster lakewoods full of BullDawgs Medussas and Big Joes and none of mine have ever got torn up by the box.

Ditto. Only I have the "old" white colored wood one, not the new pvc plastic version. I think the poster must be eluding to the pvc plastic version. It doesn't play well with plastic baits I hear after long exposure to the walls.
