| Im looking for a few "general " pointers for Cass lake in august.
taking 2 families up there an would like to spend some of the time trying for muskies.
is it pretty much an all weed bite?

| It is a big lake lots of small spots in the main body. Not alot of weeds when the further you get past Allen's Bay. I recommend hiring a guide. |

Location: Bemidji, MN | Lots of different areas to fish on Cass, I usually fish Allens bay and little bit out on the main lake. Cabbage, Weed lines, sand bars will hold fish. You could give a few chained lakes a try as well. A couple guides you can look into- Kevin Cochran and the guy who is on the lake almost everyday- Brian Jones (multispecies guide but will get you on the skis) good luck. |

Location: brooklyn park mn | I second brian jones as guide. Great guy and knows a lot. Caught a 45 inch + musky and a nice 37 inch pike while being guided last season november casting on cass lake with him. Conditions weren't ideal and he still put us on fish. Will guide with him again. We Also saw a pig but wouldn't eat. Heard lots of good things about kevin cochran as well.

| went out with brian while i was home on leave last september , had a great time, was NOT ideal conditions but was a full 13 hour trip and he never stopped trying to get me a ski!! saw 1 and he lost one, gives you a lot of good info on the lake as well. |

Location: Oak Lawn, IL | If you're not gonna spend a whole lot of time ski fishing, stick with Allens Bay.....lots of areas to fish close together. Even if the water doesn't have a bloom going, don't be afraid to try loud colors. Speed seems to be the trigger to get fish to go on Cass for me. Good luck! |
