| Howdy dude! Looks like you/I are the only ones still awake....check w/ tomyv on the board as he is from Pa. As far as music goes I'd stay on the conservative side seeing as how you younger folks have a tendency to start gyrating to the newer stuff + may miss a fish! [;)] Don't think the volume should matter as long as the radio isn't pointing toward the water! I enjoy hopping up on the bow when things slow down for some "interpretive dance"; keeps others away from you + keeps you in shape![:sun:] |

| Sponge!!!!!!!
There is a question about YOU on the opening page of msn.com...look it up! |

| Let 'er RIP!! Muskies LOVE tunes. found Hendrix, Deep Purple, and 70/80's rock to be fine! Just do NOT play Stairway to Heaven, the skis will go to sleep.....Also, stay away from rap, causes the skis to go deep and never return to the area of exposure, also causes them to Pack up and zig zag across the shallows in a spooky fashion...lol |
| |
| Deep Purple's, "Smoke on the Water" and Grand Funk's, "Foot Stompin Music" have been especially effective in counter acting post cold front conditions!
In general, most anything off "The Allmann Brothers Band At
Fillmore East" will shake up followers and make them strikers! |

| Saw that 1 Stever....you should see the show where his driver ed. gave him his license! LOL.....just saw on the local news here where a kid here died from a shark bite...hard to believe; only 10 yrs. old + to beat all was w/ his family swimming. Been alot of them this year + always have been but they usually leave you alone...I may put off buying another surf board for awhile now. [:((] |

| I doubt that music would scare fish, especially with as much noise that is already down there(other boats, waves, etc) I listen to Primus, Reel Big Fish, Incubus, mustard plug, and metallica.
Drew what do you listen to since this is your post? |

| Drew, The first thing I did when I bought my new boat was put a radio in. I fish a lot by myself, with out a radio I go a little stir-crazy, start talking to myself and singing goofy songs, other fisherman start looking after awhile. I like the hard stuff, Old Black Sabbath- WAR PIGS is the BEST, followed by FAIRIES WERE BOOTS. You have to mach the music to the lure- if your working a jerkbait you have to have some good tunes that go along with the rythum of the jerk. If your burning bucktails, you need something hard and fast etc. etc. On Sundays we even listen to the football games cranked up real loud. Hope this helps.

There is only one band to listen to when you're on the water...PHISH. It keeps your buzz flowin' too.
Nothin like catchin 20 pounds of "pissed off" boned out of your head on a top raider at about, oh, say 1 am.

Always keepin it Reel

| Drew-
You said it man. The Nuge!!! Throw in some Rush, Boston an mabye some .38 Special and you got a day of fishing ahead.
For night fishing Billy Idol - In the Midnight hour
Fall fishing - Ted Nugent's Fred Bear
You know, gotta keep the theme thing going.
Good Luck and Be Safe,
Scott |

| Nothing is better than the Blues. Some of my favorite tunes are by Stevie Ray Vaughn, Albert Collins, Otis Rush, and Joe Bucher. [:sun:] |

| a couple old van halen tapes and a bag of venison jerky- and i can throw muskie lures all day(and night)... what else is there in life?

| I like to start with DIO - Lay it on the line. |
| |
| I like to jam Zakk Wylde(his guitar jams like none other), and Johnny Cash/or Merle Haggard, when fishing on the river, in the fall the packer game is blaring. I had it on quite loud this past weekend, and the fish were still hitting at boatside. |

| drew, what part of pa are ya from? I fish by myself all the time. Have to agree with j.schillinger on the tunes, add some david allen coe, but still like all others mentioned, especially warpigs! Anyway, I don't really listen to the radio too much while fishing, I just like to listen to the wildlife. Get the crap scared out of me a lot by roosting turkeys on shore alot this year though. Take care of them in the spring. lol |

| It may surprise a small minority of you [;)], but there is at least 1 tiger on the chip that was diggin' some Johnny Cash while we caught and released her a few years back. [:)] Also, I recall a sort-of silly story at that back of a Musky Hunter mag (I think - within the past couple years) that talked about specific music while musky fishing. I say play away. If musky action is bad switch music or turn it off. Just like selecting lures, keep trying different tunes until you hit the hot pattern. [:)]
Good luck. Let us know what works.

| Are you guys sure loud music doesn''t scare fish? I have seen Slamr scare many fish so I can imagine that the music has about the same effect...unless your amp isn''t powerful enough to out do Slamr? |

| on the water the music of the birds, fish, .... can seduce me more than any human musician. On the shore gimme some blues, jimi hendrix or Therapy (Irish band) |
