35.2 - 38 on various lakes around Eau Claire.

There was "skim ice" on several shallow bays yesterday morning....

Too cold too fast and I'm afraid we might be froze out of the last few weeks of the season..[:knockout:]

Jo,

Fished this weekend on Sat. and Sun. and saw mainly 38-40 degrees. It was roughly 25 degrees here this morning and they are calling for colder weather later in the week. Several back bays and small lakes had skim ice on them on Wed and Thur. last week. I'm guessing we have about 3 weeks left before ice up. Maybe only 2 weeks on the darker shallower lakes. I guess I will be ice fishing this year on Thanksgiving instead of open water fishing. God bless.

Man, with these water temps up north, I may have to alter my plans for Thanksgiving weekend! Seems like there's going to be hard water by then. GregM, are you seeing this? What ever are we to do?[;)]

I hope the lakes freeze early.

I want to ice fish for musky.

Caught one a couple of years ago during the legal season. Pic on my site. I have only gotten to target musky 2 times and both times we had action.

I can get a good spread of suckers on tip ups. Think about it two people with six suckers in key locations all day. You can't do that in a boat.

The water temps are 48-55 in various lakes here in northern Illinois. Its weird how they're so much colder just a little ways north.
