Does anyone have any experiences with these? they seem to be a great price. How do they complare to other rods in the same price range ie.. Tackle Industries....etc....? Thanks!

I use their live and trolls a lot. I've had them for 3 seasons and have had zero issues. Nice rods, nice price. Jason is a great guy to deal with.

How is the weight of these compared to high end rods?

i have one of their shorter rods. It is a good rod, slightly heavier than some of the competitors, but nevertheless its still a quality rod. I use my 7'6" for jerkbaits and it works quite well. Its held up to the abuse.

Have a few and all have worked well, 8'6" throws my BucketHeads (15oz) and the large (8oz) HardHead along with 7" glide baits. 8' Live and trolls troll great, have 8' casting rod also. Don't get me wrong love my Lamiglas rods also but for the price you can't go wrong.

X2 for Black River rods. Excellent quality for the price and Jason St. Mary has great customer service. It's not like some companies where you are forgotten about after you but their product.

I'm looking forward to getting me a 7'6" Black River Rod. My friends all use these rods and I've never heard a single complaint. So now it's my turn to get one they've been around long enough and proved themselves.

Thanks for the replies. How long/thick are the cork handles on these rods?

I have been using these rods for the last three years. I have the 8'6,8' and the 7'6 aong with 2 live bait. The service that Jason offers I beleive is top of he line. Broke a couple of guides last fall and he replaced the rod,no questions asked.I will be getting at least one more this spring, another 8' top n tail.
