Location: MPLS, MN | I'm having a problem with my depthfinder, when I turned it on this spring the display wouldn't really show up. I fully charged the battery and it worked fine for a day then the next day the same issue. The battery was about 4 years old so I figured it needed to be replaced. Bought a new battery, charged it up and it worked great again, took the boat out yesterday worked as good as ever. Then, this morning I turn it on and the same issue and I'm lost on what it could be. Basically it turns on but the display is so light you can't read anything.
Anyone have any idea what the problem could be?
Thanks in advance, this thing is driving me crazy! | |

How was the battery charge on the new battery when the display went light again? Was it drained at all?
My gut instinct says something might be draining the battery...

| That was happening to me, for me it was my GPS module pulling constant power. I just unhooked it from the unit every night until I installed a perko switch at the main to turn everything off. That or you have a bad ground somewhere that is under constant draw. | |
