Location: Minnesota. | Well, not a new guy to muskie fishing but new to the Forum.
I recently lost my 14 yr old rig to a house fire along w/a lot of other stuff but thank goodness for insurance. New boat's at Frankies for delivery sometime soon. Also need to replace all my muskie gear, rods, reels baits etc.
Ah, the choices.
So, the itch gets me going again...the anticipation. I've been browsing You-Tube a good bit of late (older guy..not like me, really)and after the many vids I've been treated to, the many topwater vids (e.g Chris Munchow and a few others) that "Viper" bait has my attention in a big way.
Any of you have opinions on this bait? I'm just curious and on suggestion I've bought a couple 6"er's and some replacement Gamagatsu hooks (thanks Chris).
I'd like to know how many have come to enjoy this bait?
I'll report back at the end of this season. I plan on giving them a good bit of water-time.
I gave up on the Giant Jackpot some years back after having too many fish miss it on the roll. Hopefully this Viper will stay put for the take a bit better. I'll take the chance!
Thanks,
Jeremy.

| Vipers are great baits,,I like em slower then jackpots because they ride IN the surface film not on top of it.
be careful about upsizing hooks on a viper because it will make the bait sink since it rides in the surface film |
