Do any of you make crank baits out of balsa wood. I am wondering if they need to be weighted like gliders do?

why through wire construction? I been using screw eyes and epoxying them in. How is the easiest way to do through wire?

Balsa is probably the only lure wood you cant use screw eyes for. Cedar must be glued in but Balsa must be wire form or through wire. Mike

im making balsa wood cranks and ya screw eyes are out of the question on balsa because it is soft and week and muskies can destroy even the best balsa bait so an internal harness is the only way to make them . ive had cranes that were just destroyed on the first fish they caught .
