| I've been making som sranks out of Maple and Mahogany. My question is...how thin can you go with flat-sided lures made of Cedar. I got real nice wood that is used for bee-hives, but don't know if 5/8+ is thick enough for the flat sided lures that I want to make. They are awesome twitch baits, but I don't want them to self destruct. Sould I glue them together...I tried thru-wire and quit.
Crankbaits sure are easier to make than gliders. I don't miss the weighting process.
PS.....I spent a week in the hospital undergoing an intrathecal catheter trial where they pump pain meds right in your spinal column. Well, on April 20th I'm going in to have a pump permanently emplanted in my side that will pump meds directly into the trouble spots of my spine. That time in the hospital was the first time that I was pain free in over 15 years. Mark your calenders for the 19th and 20th and keep me in your prayers.

| 5/8 should be OK. I make mine out of 3/4" and I have done one that was 1/2". I use 1 1/4' stainless screw eyes and epoxy them in.
Good luck with the surgery and I hope this fixes your problems. |

5/8 is my favorite thickness for cranks from cedar. I rip my 3/4 down.

| Good luck on your back. Hope it's a long term fix and when you get some cranks done I'd be happy to try em out in Canada this august. |
