I love it! No need to worry about jet skis, pleasure boaters, being cut off, etc. Now is the time to get serious. It's going to be a long off season and only a little more than thirty days left to scratch the itch.

I know just what you guys are going through.
Why, I fished yesterday and had to keep my cutoff sweatshirt on throughout the afternoon.
Fished again today and toward evening, had to put on my vest(forgot my cutoff sweatshirt).
If it keeps up like this, I will have to wear a coat before November is done...

I'll be fishing in your backyard and I hope it looks nothing like the front. Is there any ice on the lakes yet?

Was fishing the Rhinelander area today with MuskieMedic. Yes, snow is there, but when are the leaves going to come off the trees? This is one weird fall.

Many of the small lakes have a skin of ice this morning, as do ALL the ponds I saw on the way home from Minoqua. If it doesn't warm some soon, there will be ice on most lakes around the shores at least. Bring your ice breakers!![]

Hi Northern Wisconsin Muskie Freaks,

Hitting Namekagon with Schram the next 2 weekends.
Hoping to have a few guests along, as well.

We're geared up for some topwater, as well as dragging a few suckers, and Treats, Undertakers, whatever other jerkbaits we can think of.

I found an older Suick-looking thing, it's about 12inches long, looks like a dang truck tire. Hope my shoulders can handle it, I have already made the modificaton to the tail.

Also, PK, I got the weight set for the Viper, so it is now a jerkbait, more deep-running than surface...

Good luck kids,
papa

Jim K and myself were up in Oneida county yesterday and she was a chilly one, no fish on suckers or throwing baits. Had to clean off the reels and eyelets many times from ice, and yes there was still some ice on the smaller lakes even later in the day. I think it's going to be a short season this year.
