Looking for some advice

The attached photo is new Holoform color that were thinking about coming out with.

It’s a Barred Holoform Golden Shiner.

What one looks better to you?

The bottoms lure:
The Holoform tape that has the clear scale and the Holofrom outline (less flash but more broken up with the bars)
Or
The tops lure:
The Holoform tape has the flashy scales (more flash but the scales cover more of the bars

I would be more apt to throw the lure on TOP. I believe in more flash, especially if your throwing baits in dark or stained water. Good luck! The baits look pretty good.

Bill, I like the bottom one better, but I think they are both sharp..

bill, that's a tough question man!! I personally like the top one as well. But like Jim K said: they both look amazing to me!![:praise:]

btw, still haven't received my deep divers. Did you get the address right?

Bill,

I like the top one. On the other hand, I really like the bottom one. I think you should give me one of each on Saturday morning, and let me let the fish decide which they like!

Seriously, it's a hard call. Top one, if I was a fish, I think, possibly, would be what I'd bite on.[]

Hi Bill,

Shep gave me an idea. Like his suggestion, when you get around to making one in a sucker, or walleye pattern I would be more than happy to give it a spin around the lake for you (LOL.)

All kidding aside, the baits look great!

Great looking bait Bill. I would rather buy the top one. It just looks better to me.

Bill I like them both for different reasons. The top one will sell the best, most lures catch fishermen. Confidence catches fish along with the lure. Good looking baits!!! Slammers Rock!!![:p] [:p]

Bottom one by far the better looking bait...top on is a bit too much disco ball for my taste. Bottom one is a really good looking bait....when can I get one?

sshhhhhh....I got a bite!

Hi Bill!
Great idea.... getting feedback in advance like this.

I would buy the BOTTOM color with less holoform scale. Normally, I'd prefer the extra flash from the holoform used in the top pattern.... but keep in mind that all that gold glitter underneath the holoform produces a lot of flash too. Thus, I think seeing more of the bars offers a little better contrast in comparison to your standard colors.

In my opinion, use the larger scale holoform on patterns that do NOT use glitter... and go with the smaller scales on your patterns WITH glitter.

Thanks for letting us vote[:halo:]

I personally prefer the bait on the bottom. I think it would look more like a wounded baitfish that has been hit and had some of its scales knocked out of place.

Thanks for letting us get a preview. It's easier to make the choice now than when we're standing in your booth at the shows with our wallets open! [;)]

Bill,

The fact that your asking is way....cool and a testiment to your business smarts...

I will second the motion made by Jlong and Mike Koepp.

For me I would buy the lower one, at least it appears to offer enough flash for what I would want in a bait that color, nice contrast with the bars.

That top one is cool and would probably sell like hotcakes with the new holoform craze. What I would love to see is that top holoform tape on a lighter color..i.e. a more clear water pattern, some kind of "superman" cisco or similar looking color.

Basically an off white backround with that tape, maybe a little hint of orange on the belly, dark blue/green on the back. One or two smaller lighter black dots across the upper middle.

Then again I'm not a fish...[]

Thanks for asking,

Mark

I like the bottom one better, although I think both will put fish in the boat.

I like the bottom one alittle better, more natural, But I would love to field test them for you on my usual haunts Kinkaid, Shelbyville, Webster, Evergreen, Silver, Cave Run , Green River and Lake of the Woods. Baits look great, Al[:p]

Bill,

The bottom lure looks a lot more natural, I would use the bottm one.
Great looking bait, can't wait to get my hands on some.[:p]

My vote is for the bottom one. I've always been partial to barred patterns, or any bar for that matter. Of course, that means the fish will probably prefer the top one.

On solid color lures I would go with top. On the pattern you have there I would go with the bottom.

NEITHER!!!!!

You, you, you, you did this to me last year Bill, made all these cool custom colors and sucked me in like a pack of pirhanas to a deer carcass. GRRRRRR! Looks like I will have about 500 baits next year!!!!!

I like both but I pick the bottom one. I like glitter too.

I also think the gold glitter/brown barred custom you made last year would look good in silver glitter/black bars.[:p]

Keep up the good work.

I think they both look great, if I had to choose I would take the bottom pattern. I have had great success with your baits this fall. Caught a heavy 50 inch fish this last week end on the 12 inch Sucker deep diver. I do have some concern on the split rings. The middle split ring almost opened up completly, scared the hell out of me. I have switched all of the rings with Wolverine rings. Have you had any other problems with your rings.

See you in Chicago.

Good luck, Murph

I like them both, like almost everone else. For the waters I usually fish,I would prefer the TOP one.I like the flash on sunny days.

Interesting, I would have thought that the top one would get the most votes. But what do I know, I only make them. Thanks for the input guys.

To answer a few questions:
Phish Killer, I should have them at the Musky Shows this winter

Anom, No, I’m not going to ask you to name it. I could care less what it’s called. I just wanted to know what you guy’s liked better.

Murph, Congrad’s on the fish and sorry about the split ring. I myself have never had any trouble with the ones that are on the lures, but if you want to use the Wolverine or a Bucher, have at it!

Wow! You get better every year. I like the bottom better. Since you’re getting so good, how about revisiting your perch pattern? Not complaining, it’s my most fish-catching pattern of yours.
Nice baits! Good-looking smaller divers, I can’t wait until Showtime.

Bill-

Bottom for the same reasons and Jlong. Need the flash but also need the contrast. The top one I would think would drown out the contrast.

Looking forward to the shows this year. I need some more Slammer's.

I second the vote for a holoform perch pattern. I fish in Mn. most of the time and perch is always a predominate forage in most lakes. Perch usually "matches the hatch."

Also, how about a holoform firetiger type pattern for dingy water. Maybe I should say, more of a neon or flourescent perch pattern rather than fire tiger. What I'm trying to get across is a perch pattern that is brighter/flasher for use in dingy or alge water.

As for my choice of the 2 patterns listed, I would go for the top one.
