i assume most are fishing out of 18' - 22' boats ... please show pictures of your trolling set-ups.

i'm idea shopping and rigging my boat (Ranger 690) for walleye and salmon trolling. i'm planning to use 6 lines max with 2 downriggers and intend to use traxtech mounting hardware. my thoughts are to corner mount the downriggers on short tracks and then use my downeasters on side rails. so, 2 down rigger rods and then 4 dipsy/planer-board rods.

the other thought is to rig a board with the downriggers and rod holders for salmon fishing and mount it into the trax-tech. mounts and put it on and off and then just use the downeaster rail mounts for trolling walleyes.

any ideas, suggestions, advice and especially pictures anyone has to share would be appreciated!!

how do the other multi-species guys address this??? Thanks !!!

I have a 18' lund fisherman. I bought it with two cannon elec. down riggers. If I bought a new boat I would not have the down riggers as far back as mine are. You end up working them from behind the rear seats to keep things from tangling. Just my 2 cents worth.

hi. on my old charterboat we swithched up mid season from walleye/salmon to musky. downrigger bases that swivel with salties are the ultimate for boat rods. they can be multiple postioned.

I use Traxtech tracks that sit on top of the Ranger rails. You can slide the rod holders on and off very quickly so they dont get in the way of casting.
