Location: Corning, Iowa | My trailer tires say to put 50 lbs. of air in at cold start. Doesn't this sound like alot? It must build up quite a bit. Does this sound right? Thanks Doug |

Location: Not far enough north! | Trailer tires are all different if the tires say 50 psi then thats what you should put in them. I have to run 70-80 in my rear pick up tires and 120psi in real truck tires. 50psi is not a lot just depends on what your used to. I run 12-18 psi in tractor tires. You are best to follow the numbers on the tires. Under inflated boat trailer tires will make the trailer bounce like crazy!

| 50lbs doesn't sound like much at all. Just did my whellbarrow this morning and that was 35lbs. Boat weighs a bit more!  |

Location: Mt. Zion, IL | Run them between 40-45 for a couple of local trips and see how the tread wear looks. If you are getting wear on the outside, increase the pressure, if worn on the inside, decrease the air pressure. Tires are rated at those pressures at MAXIMUM load. You may be well below the maximum like I am. My tires wear evenly at 40 PSI and the tires are rated at 50. |
