Location: Probably Minnesota that time... | Not so sure it has to be nice and even, I made some baits for a couple years, without a turner,(gliders, topwaters and cranks) hang them by the nose one coat, then hang them by the tail the next coat. Be sure to run a torch quickly over the bait before hanging. You will get a noticeably better finish with a turner, but if you let the epoxy sit a bit before application, the results aren't bad. -Not perfect, not as good as with a turner, but pretty acceptable by most standards.-Just my opinion, but then again it depends on how much of a perfectionist you are. Also- a turner doesn't have to take up much space! I can take mine apart and put it away, if needed.
