Subject: Envirotex


Going to use envirotex to cear some baits. I dont not have a drying rack. How hard is it going to be to get a nice even coat. I dont have alot of room for a drying rack at this time. How should i go about this...Thanks in advance for any ideas....

Not going to work out for you without something to spin the lures with--Been there and tried it----2 choices for you--build the drying/spin rack or use DEVCOn 2 ton epoxy brushed on them--sets up much quicker--15-20 minutes and it will not run so you can hang them and turn them by hand every 3-5 minutes---Kinda a pain but it works.

Not so sure it has to be nice and even, I made some baits for a couple years, without a turner,(gliders, topwaters and cranks) hang them by the nose one coat, then hang them by the tail the next coat. Be sure to run a torch quickly over the bait before hanging. You will get a noticeably better finish with a turner, but if you let the epoxy sit a bit before application, the results aren't bad. -Not perfect, not as good as with a turner, but pretty acceptable by most standards.-Just my opinion, but then again it depends on how much of a perfectionist you are. Also- a turner doesn't have to take up much space! I can take mine apart and put it away, if needed. So you decide, if you are in the Twin cities metro area, I would be happy to show you the difference. Good luck,
