Subject: Ia great lakes ice off?


Anyone know the current ice conditions on the Iowa great lake (big spirit lake, west okoboji, etc)? And also does anyone have an idea of when the ice will be melted?

Location: Iowa Great Lakes		Was still driving my truck on the ice a week ago, still 14-20" of ice.... Lots of time left since season don't open untill May 21 for muskies....

Average ice out dates for the Iowa Great Lakes area:

East Okoboji - March 31st
West Okoboji - April 5th
Big Spirit - April 4th

Location: Minnesota: where it's tough to be a sportsfan!		We get another good two day rain and she'll move and buckle with the wind that always blows down there. I'v elaunched in West Boji in March a few times dodging ice to get from spot to spot. Even had to switch ramps one year! Gonna be early this year, finish sharpening those hooks!

Location: Iowa Great Lakes		Bass, panfish and pike are all thats open untill May when Walleye and Muskie season opens....

Wow...that surprises me. The ice has been completely off all the lakes for about two weeks here in central Iowa. What a difference 170 miles makes...
