Subject: first trip to spring lake


hey guys I'm heading to spring lake for the first time the 18th and 19th. does anyone know if the campground is open? also I realized I'm going the Sunday that the tournament ends and was told parking gets tight. is there multiple launches? any help would be greatly appreciated

mecoltin,

have you considered other lakes? banner marsh and those lakes is on the west side of the illinois river. much better size potential on those lakes and the dnr stocks them like crazy. good luck

Are you referring to Northern Iowa? If so, I fished there two years ago in the Spring. The camp ground is very nice with clean showers and bathrooms on site. The launch is only a few miles away.

I've never heard of the other lakes. I'm fairly new to the Illinois muskie game. I do the vast majority of my fishing in the UP of Michigan by my cottage but I figured since I just bought a smaller boat I'd try spring lake. I've heard there is great numbers and that it's fairly easy to fish. I took a couple days off and I'm headed down, kind of a spur of the moment decision but I'm open to other lakes if the muskie fishing is good. ill look into those lakes thanks for the info. I appreciate it
