Location: Madison, WI | Hi guys,
Putting together a youtube slide show video, with outdoor scenery pics, as well as fish pics from some of my recent trips. I want to touch it up with some background music as well, but not quite sure what I'm looking for. Guitar music (with no lyrics) would be fine, or any songs with lyrics might be appropriate as well (as long as it encompassed the outdoor theme, I guess). Any particular suggestions for songs, or any particular artists that might work for what I'm looking for?
Thanks in advance for any suggestions...

Location: Madison, WI | Thanks for the suggestions guys!! I will have to check out all those for future reference. I ended up going with...
"Out on the Water" by Randy Joe Heavin.
I teach Sunday school at our church and the children's pastor sometimes asks us to bring things for "show and tell" so the kids can get to know us better, etc. I put this vid together... (Hope you enjoy it.... The song starts after about 45 seconds of singing loon footage on Perrault Lake).
Hope this link works...

Great video man. I actually felt like I was on a fishing vacation while viewing your slide show. Love the wildlife scenery! Oh... by the way.. who's that scary looking guy with the stocking cap and sun-glasses in that photo where you're wearing your jacket? |

The scary looking guy is Gerard H. (muskie! nut). I'm thinking about cropping him out of that picture, because I don't want to scare all the kids at Sunday school!!
Anyway, I redid the ending by including video footage of a released musky swimming away and slowly disappearing as the music fades out. (Just learned earlier today how to silence the audio on the original video footage so that the music could play over the top of it).
I'll be removing the other version of the video soon, and replacing it with this...

| Hey Jackpot John!
Justin shared your video with me on facebook - great job and a great song! (I bought a copy of that song from Amazon for my a future photo/collection.) I've done a few of these and managed to really match up the music to the pics at the beginning of this one - slide to 45 seconds in to get to where the good stuff starts. (The clip is pretty long with lots of different music.)

| I've also done clips for the Muskellunge Club of Wisconsin (http://www.muskiewi.org/) using member photos. Fun club based in Milwaukee. You can check out those clips here:

You guys will really be surprised (and maybe even a little bit worried) about my song selection for the club clip I'm working on for the April club banquet - something totally unlike anything I've used so far. I'll be posting that to youtube around the day of the banquet - maybe I'll post a link to this thread in case anyone is interested in checking it out once I've posted it. |

Thanks for the positive feedback. You'll have to look me up on facebook so we can compare notes about that trout water fishing. I watched your video about Crow Lake and LOTW. Are you Dave?? (The guy who caught 3 41 inchers the same day.)
I also saw your 3rd video (88 lines about 44 women). I'm scheduled to teach the Bible lesson this Sunday to the kids, and I'm afraid if I use that song, they won't invite me back next week!!!! However, I did like the way you flashed through the pics in rapid sucession in the interlude between verses. Very clean work on the timin there. It's obvious you're a bit more skilled on using these movie making programs than I, as I'm still learnin how to use all the bells and whistles of these programs. I didn't watch your 2nd video, because when I clicked on the link, there were a whole bunch of videos to choose from, and I didn't know which one you were referring to. In any case, thanks for the kind words, and look me up on FB.

| For anyone else looking for background music for video, I would suggest visiting Kevin McLeod's Incopetech site. It is free and royalty free, as long as you credit him. He also accepts donations. There are quite a few selections and something to fit most moods you may be trying to convey. When you use popular commercial music, you lose your rights to your production. Why do that?

You've been down too long in the midnight sea
Oh what's becoming of me
Ride the tiger
You can see his stripes but you know he's clean
Oh don't you see what I mean
Gotta get away
Holy Diver
Shiny diamonds
Like the eyes of a cat in the black and blue
Something is coming for you
Race for the morning
You can hide in the sun 'till you see the light
Oh we will pray it's all right
Gotta get away-get away
Between the velvet lies
There's a truth that's hard as steel
The vision never dies
Life's a never ending wheel
Holy Diver
You're the star of the masquerade
No need to look so afraid
Jump on the tiger
You can feel his heart but you know he's mean
Some light can never be seen
RJD
The ultimate crankbait trolling song.
You're welcome. |
