Ok so I have a gen 1 HDS5. I want to hook it up to my built in trandsducer on the minnkota, Its an earlier 2000's maxxum model.

* the "fishing tech" at cabelas sold me a US2 which in no way fit
* the trolling motor plug in has a plastic 3 prong
* I have the cable in the photo from an old Garmin, it will connect to the trolling motor 3 prong but will definitely not fit the Lowrance. So I believe it is a US1 sonar cable for a garmin..
* I was told to look for a US1 cable for a minnkota, but I dont know if they exist for an HDS model?
* The bottom photo is what the connection piece to the trolling motor should look like

So my question is what connector piece do I need to connect my Lowrance gen 1 HDS5 to my Minnktoa built in transducer? If you know do you have a link I could buy it from or do you have a used one?

Thanks for help!

I believe you trolling motor is a US1 and you need a US2 for it to work, or any of the new locators. There is to connector to make them work. I went through the same thing with my Humminbrid. I had to mount the transducer the old fashion way.

Thanks Jwegs..

I have a us2 connector piece but it wont connect at all. The us2 piece wont connect to the trolling motor.. the us2 has 4 prongs and connects with a metal thread and the my trolling motor has a 3 prong plastic threads..

Im hoping i dont need to atually mount the transducer the old fashioned way!

Thanks for your thoughts!

Check Out Tri-State Trolling motor and Repair. They are in St. Louis but I use them when ever I need anything. They have a website but it is a small shop. Call them and I'm sure they will be able to get you the right cable the first try. I have bought my last three trolling motors there and have had repairs done there too.
