I have musky first for years, although most of my gear has been borrowed off of my old man.

What are your top 10 go to lures and colors, and what would you suggest for an all purpose rod??

I fish a lot of Iowa Waters and IGL, also hit Leech and the likes multiple times a year.

Thanks!!

If you do a search and type in "top 10 lures" it should come up with the thread. It was about a month or 2 ago. Click on the "search" button thats on the shaded line next to "New Threads". Hope this helps you

LOL!!! I've been on my computer staring into this screen aimlessly all day, I was bound to mess up sooner or later. At least it was not one of my documents for work... HA!

Top ten lures? Suggestion: Go to the Jackson Lures Unlimited website and hit "Top Ten Lures" at the top. Those figures come from Muskie, Inc.'s data. All around rod? Depends on what you like; and what you want to spend. I'm a simple man; and don't want to spend too much. I'm satisfied with an IM 8, Gander Mountain Muskie Rod, weighted for 15 to 30. Someone else might want to go much heavier. As they like it.
Lures I like:
Topwater: Topraider, 7" Walk the Dog (Little Doc).
In line spinners: Mepps Magnum Muskie Killers, tandem tails. Silver and gold blades are a must have. Black, brown and yellow skirts. Mepps Giant Killers. Same blades, plus firetiger.
Shallow cranks: 5.5" and 6.5" Wileys, troll or cast. 6" Jakes. 7.5" Grandma.
Mid-depth cranks: 6", 7" or 8" Believers.
Deeper: 8" Jakes.
Deep: 8" Depthraider. 9" Grandma.
Colors: Natural in clear water. Brighter in stained water. Perch is a must have if there are any in the lake. Try and match the forage.
