Location: Des Moines IA | The winch on my trailer failed last trip out last year so I bought a new one. When I went to replace it, I noticed the one I bought was bigger than the original. Boat weighs around 2000 but the winch was rated for 1300 ? Is that normal? |

| Probably. Your not lifting 1300 lbs of dead weight. Your pulling the boat up on the bunks, and it's probably less than 1300 lbs, especially if you have siliconed your bunks.. Maybe if the original was smaller, then this one might last longer?

Location: Rhinelander, Wisconsin | I don't see why she would quit at all. Fail is a pretty strong term, gender considering and all. Seems like you should have two to three anyway, a single wench could never pull the boat on the trailer by herself. Then again..... |
