Location: Lebanon,Mo | The guy that builds the Twisted Sucker was part owner of Phantom Lures with Todd I believe and far as I know there was no TM on color patterns...
And it's not a knockoff considering there wood, run different and not even the same mold... |

| Yes, and i like them a lot. As noted they run deeper. Seem to be consistent from bait to bait. They have a permanant place in my JB collection. |

| They definitely work! I was at Cave Run last week and tied one on at the very first spot and boated a 38"er. That bait did not come off all day and I ended up with four other strikes and more follows. Not sure if it was the bait entirely or the white tail, but I liked the way it worked and will be adding a few this year. |

Location: Mn | Thanks for the comments guys. Todd from Phantom got his start with me and when he wanted to make the Phantom he asked me if I had any problems with the similar designs to the provoker, and the then suicidal sucker. which I didn't. Later I worked with Phantom for a few years but have now went back to making my own stuff. The name of the lure changed and the shape from the original suicidal sucker a little but the action and the materials are definately different. Good luck fishing and may your next be your personal best. Mark Dresow @muskiesolutions.com see you at the mn muskie expo booth#412 |

Location: Mn | I've been making baits for 20 years now and I made the suicdal sucker in glide, twitch, and crankbait models from1992 to 1997. While I was with Phantom those were shelved. In the meantime pearson started using the name so I changed to twisted sucker and straight sucker. Now that's funny I have an old Topline Tackle catalog, and the guy I got it from has a whole bucket of "Topline Lures" - he's not even a muskie fisherman but apparently had some financial ties with the Topline Lures company. When he showed them to me I was floored when I seen a phantom and a viper by a different name. lol
I tried to get the bucket of lures from him but he was having none of it. haha
small world. |
