Hey guys,

Not a musky question, but I'm thinking about taking the fam up near the Boundary Waters area this summer and would like any suggestions for lake and resort recommendations. The kids are 7 so something with a beach and other amenities yet have the wilderness type feel...was thinking Crane/Kab/Rainy type lake. We go to V usually but we're trying to get away from the crowds this summer...any help would be appreciated!

Take a look at pine point on crane. Nice beach and no road access so plenty of the wilderness feel. Brand new fleet of Lund rental boats also. Check out the website at www.pinepointlodge.com or pm me if you have any questions.

Pelican near orr is a great lake for kids. About as easy to fish as they come. Several have a nice beach. I've personally stayed at Island View. In fact, it was my first up north experience when I was about 8 yrs old. I took my daughter up there 3 summers ago when she was 8 (weeks old). I've also stayed at Aspen. You can't go wrong with either. Have fun.

i'm doing the same thing with the same purpose and i selected Idlewild Resort on kabetogama ... www.idlewildresort.com ... it's 20 minutes from pelican/orr so you can do some bouncing around from there too. i met the owners who have operated this place for like 28 years and have a good reputation.

good luck selecting ...
