| Went out on Friday with a client, we took his 9 year old son out in the morning to fish till noon. We saw one fish and Dad had one on while casting a Shady Tail and lost it.
We broke for lunch and then went out with his 6 year old son after lunch. On Dad's second cast with a Shady Tail he hooked and boated his first ever Musky, a fat 38 1/2".
About 15 minutes later the clicker on my down rod next to the boat with a sucker, started to sound. I picked up the rod and felt a fish, set the hook and handed the rod to 6 year old Collin. Collin battled his first ever Musky, a nice little 27", we boated the fish and took lot's of pictures of Collins first Musky. Unfortunately the little guy was not feeling well and we had to call our trip at 2:30.
If I ever get out of the "ICE AGE" I will have digital pic's to put up right away, until then I have to wait to fill the roll and then get them developed.
Had a great time, the look on the faces of the father and son were worth the trip[]
I think we have some future Musky Fanatics in the making, isn't life great[:praise:]
Get those kids out in the boat, even if you take them fishing for bait, teach them about our great outdoors!!!! | |

| Ralph, that's awesome. My six year old caught one about that big this year on a crankbait he was using. He lost one about 34" when it threw a topraider he was reeling in. This kid is a topwater nut and he showed me that even a bright bluebird day can be good on topwater. My 5 year old lost a nice fish and my 8 year old had one grab his spinnerbait boatside. They love musky fishing and I could not be happier about it.[] | |

| Fun stuff Ralph...Congrats.
I have a similar outing booked for this Sat. A father and 10yr. old son. Should be a good time, I told "Dad" to make sure the kid is bundled up good. It's cold here but the fish should be going strong this weekend.
Isn't it a blast helping someone get their first..
Kids are the future of our sport and the next ones to take care of the environment and resource.. Great to get'm started young.
