| What are some small trolling baits that work well for muskies. Anyone troll small bass crankbaits like Rapala DT 16s or others? |

| Lots of good suggestions posted. At 5" each, both Fishall (Talonz) Fat Shad and Baker Baits, 5" Shad could make that list as well.

Whatever the kid says is gospel. This is the guy who put a 49.5" fish in the boat as early as April 2 on a 5.5" Wiley. |

| Muskie Train MX4's are a good small one and the new muskie train GT Bullet 4" is a bait made for gregg thomas by muskietrain. He sold a pile of them at the shows and has been doing good in kentucky this year on them.

| I bought one from Gregg Thomas at the Ohio Musky show. I have casted it a couple of times just to see the action and it is awsome. He has done well on it and I am excited to give it a try. It is basically a jointed mx6 without the back (no joint). If you can't find a picture of it, let me know and I will try and post one.
Any other small baits you trollers like to use? |

Location: Ontario | Super Shad Raps, 8in Believers, 6in Jakes, Hooker Seducers, 3oz spinnerbaits/small single boootails, 6in Stalker-style, Ernies (good small bait for getting deep with less line out), Shallow Invaders. My small baits for trolling are the ones upto about ten inches, Jakes, Grandmas, Believers, Outkasts, Perchbaits (they have a five inch also), DepthRaiders, Cisco Kidds, etc. Most of these come in versions from 6 all the way up to 13-14+ inches. A ten inch lure is a small item for even a 30 inch pike. Six to ten inch perch are the dinks that most guys throw back icefishing. Most of the productive shaped/styled trolling baits you can get in a range of sizes. I think 8-10in is about the sweet spot overall. |
