hey guys just wondering how do you know if your break system is set up properly, say in a revo toro 60, I use this reel for glide baits cranks/jerks and some times even smaller bladed buck tails but im not sure if I have adjusted the internal break system properly, do I pop two break teeth out or more? please let me know

You'll need to spend some time casting and adjusting them to find what works best for "you" not what the right or wrong way to set it up.

I use 4 popped out on my Toro 51 HS, and that works fine for me on all jerk/glidebaits between 1-5 oz.

The newer model Toros has a new type of brakingsystem, where 3 of the brakes are springloaded, and then automaticly pops back, when the force/speed reduces - On this type i use all 6 for casting magnums and big bucks, cause the slow down quite alot due to the air-resistance off these baits.

I tried using only 2 but kept getting overruns, but whit 4 its no problem. Hope it helps...

Set the cast control knob so a 1-3oz bait will drop fast when you push the spool release button and then leave it that way. On the newer Toro reels that have the 3 pitch and 3 non-pitch spool brakes, put all 3 pitch brakes on by pushing out on the brake, try casting if you over run then push out one of the non-pitch ones and try that that if you still over run put one or all 3 on and that will work and use your thumb. Also make sure the brake ring is clean then rub a little grease on the brake ring and that will smooth the drag system out and keep it from making noise on a cast.
