Hey guys. How do you fish a top raider? Do you let it pause at all? Do you rip it then let it sit or do ypu do a straight retrieve. Also, do you keep it on the surface on the figure eight or do you go sub surface with it? Thanks for any help

All of the above. I mostly do a straight retrieve, keeping as much of the line out of the water as I can. I use a medium heavy rod with a low gear reel (Luna 301). I used a heavier power rod before but was pulling the bait out of the fish's mouth too much. The medium heavy rod has increased my hook-ups.

straight retrieve and make sure you upgrade you hooks to 7/0 for better hookups. And if its its real weedy, remove the belly hook to fish the bait through the weeds.

Straight moderate retrieve, pick-up the pace a bit if you got a follower, and don't be afraid to take it under water on the 8.
