Location: Northern New Jersey | whats the key to making a GOOD glide bait? i can make a mediocre one, it moves maybe a foot or so. but i need something MORE! also, do you guys run wire through on your glide baits? |

Location: S.Wisconsin | What makes a glide bait "good"? One foot to each side is good for a shorter drop belly style bait and at times i think the fish react to the shorter more eratic glide. If you want more glide i would try a longer more slender glider shape. I just use the 1 1/2" .090 screw eyes and have not had any problems. Just play with your baits and most important let the fish tell you what they like. Some of the best looking and most perfect gliding baits in my box have never even been followed. Location: Northern New Jersey | yeah the ones i made are pretty short (about 6 inch) so that may be why im having a hard time getting a long glide out of it. |
