I'm told this show has been sold out to vendors for quite some time.
Big Wood Musky Lures will be there. Still trying to figure out what baits to bring as we can only bring a small fraction of what we carry. I'm open to suggestions for anyone going to the show.
They are giving away a canoe and Leinenkugels is one of the sponsors, so I'm guessing the beer will be flowing?
Should be a great Time!

I know that there is a ton of advertising on it Muskie Magazine, Musky Hunter Magazine, Channel 12 out of Rhinelander WI, The Wausau Paper, 8 different radio stations from Appleton north and west and a ton of fliers being handed out in Northern WI. I know that Keyes Outdoors will have something on it the next couple of weeks as well.

You can bring your Abu Garcia reel and they will teach you how to clean it. There will be raffles for musky tackle and you can register to win the Leinenkugel canoe. Whether you attend Friday or Saturday, save your ticket stub as that will gain you admission to the show party Saturday night where a live band (Magnum 4 out of Milwaukee) will be playing. Without your stub, there will be a $5.00 cover at the door. There will also be lure swap at 7 pm Saturday evening. There will be plenty to do and see. Should be a good time!

I don't have anything shorter than 8' in my casting series. I CAN MAKE IT! Just haven't had that much demand for it. I am in high gear to have more 9'6" rods made up as I only have 2 left for sale...seems most everyone likes the longer rods!

Next addition might be a 7' spinning rod for bass/walleye?

Hey, Make sure you guys check out Person Plugs at the Wisconsin Musky Expo, Fred hasn't done many shows in our area and is kind of an unknown here but he makes a couple of different gliders that are awesome imo. The suicide sucker never stops moving even at rest and the paint on them is great. I'm not carrying them in our booth at the show but a lot of space in our store is going to be dedicated to his line of lures. So visit Fred at the show!!!

They slowly sink and and rock or quiver while they are sinking. The sinking is so slow that the lure looks like its hanging there rocking. The bait pictured is the small size, I like the next size bigger myself but this lure took the best picture..... lol. The Suicide Sucker works well with small taps and worked slow. Great fall and post front lure. Freds other glider the wideglide is more of a fast paced glider that you can hammer on and make swing out there!!!

Fred, sorry about missing the "a" in Pearson in my earlier post, I'm a fisherman and typing is not a strong point of mine...... LOL

Fred's lures can also be found at http://www.pearsonplugs.com

Looking forward to the show and the possibility of a bit more relaxed atmosphere. Milwaukee can be crazy...

For the record, if you like thin crust pizza; Sam's Pizza in Schofield has been my absolute favorite forever. From the show you'd have to follow business 51 towards Wausau and it's near the McDonalds in Schofield. There's actually another location up in Wausau too.

I have not had the new place's pizza that was mentioned but I would highly recommend Sam's.

I live a half mile from Sam's. Yes, they have good pizza but my family loves Stelleanos pizza. Awesome herb infused thin crust and nickel sized spicy sausage. They also have a bar. How can you go wrong? And close to the show.

Sams pizza is our families favorite...we live in the area. They cut their pizza in these little squares, so you can always eat "one more piece" and there are never any leftovers.

Ahh the anticipation! Can't wait to see all the new baits & fishing greats. Also got a few rigs ready I've been working on (by Generation Next Fishing) for the Blue Ribbon Bait & Tackle booth... first one's out other than what I've been making for friends & family over the years so I'm pretty excited. Some are tied w/ Nickel-Titanium and some with wire. Some single rigs and doubles, star flash, flashabou or naked rigs (no flash). 10% of proceeds from the rigs will also benefit the kid's fishing clinics we're putting on. Hope you enjoy...

Will there be any booths and reps from HUMMINBIRD or LOWRANCE ? We're shopping this year and it would be great to get ansewers and explanations about their products. It's difficult for a lot of shops to know everything about the products they sell. Thanks.

i do not think lowrance or humminbird will have booths at the show, but there will be many people there who have vast knowledge of electronics that will give you a honest answer to your questions, steve sworrall will be in the tuffy booth and from what i here he is a genius when it comes to finders and what they can do and how to use them correctly

If you have any questions about Humminbird look up Brandon Dunbar at the Ross's Sport Shop booth, he's pretty sharp on the new units. Like Semper Esox said there will be many people that you can talk with, the guides and tournament fishermen that are working the shows depend on electronics and fishing to make a living, and you will get an honest answer from them not a sales pitch!

What's the deal with the lure swap on Saturday night? I've seen it advertised but nothing about it on the show sight. Does anyone have any particulars on this; like set-up, sharing tables like at Milwaukee?

I dropped my banner off last night so it could get hung this weekend at the show site. I got to see a copy of the floor plan, this show is set up nice and all of the booths on the main floor were full and the booths were spilling out into the front hall!!!! It's awesome that someone finally brought a show of this caliber closer to northern WI!!!! There were a lot of venders that I recognized and a few new ones that I never knew existed. Maybe one of those new companies will have the next hot lure trend.....

WISCONSIN MUSKY EXPO

The Wisconsin Musky Expo is set for March 2nd, 3rd, and 4th at the Patriot Center in Rothschild, and will feature tackle manufacturers, retailers, resorts, guides, seminars, boats, and taxidermy displays.

Speakers include Legendary Hall of Fame musky guide Tony Rizzo, Rich Reinert, Capt. Brett Jolly, Hall of Fame guide Russ (Smitty) Smith and Jake Smith, Wisconsin River legend Bill Melanson/Kurt Schutlz, noted Green Bay musky guide Capt. Dennis Radloff. Chippewa River musky guide, Mike Etzel, St. Louis River musky guide, Dustin Carlson. Dustin, last year, guided a client to a 49 lb. tiger musky and he will be displaying that fish at the show. Long time and well know musky guide, and the founder of Muskies First, Steve Worrall, will be speaking about the affects of sound and vibration from musky lures. He will present the actual sounds that musky lures make under water. Don’t miss any of these seminars. There also will be a lure swap at 7 p.m. and live music to follow at 8 p.m. Saturday night. Magnum 4 will rock the house. Admission to the band will be free with your Friday or Saturday show ticket stub, or a $5.00 cover charge at the door.

Come see the world’s largest musky rod and reel, courtesy of Nimmer Swimmer Lures. Register for a chance to win the Leinenkugel’s canoe. Bring your musky reel to the show and Abu Garcia will clean it for free and teach you how to do it yourself. Fishin’ Hole Bait and Tackle of Rhinelander, WI wants to buy the baits that you no longer use and turn them into cash. There will also be antique lure appraisals by Al Soczka of Tall Pines Motel and Gallery of Land O’Lakes, WI. Al will give you an honest idea of what those lures that dad and grandpa had are worth.

Cost is $8.00; a three-day pass is $14.00. Children 12 and under are free. Show hours are 2 p.m to 9 p.m. Friday; 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday; and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday. The Wisconsin Musky Expo is sponsored by: Leinenkugel’s, Elk River Rods, Tuffy Boats, Dreamcatcher Bucktails and Tackle, and Suick/Cisco Kid Musky Lures.
Check us out on Facebook at Wisconsin Muskie Expo. More information is available at www.wisconsinmuskyexpo.com.

I am extremely excited for the show! Can't wait to meet all of the knowledgeable fishermen and all around great people! I have been looking through and I really like the Pearson Plugs! I have heard so many great things about them and I definitely plan on adding them to my tackle box come musky season! Also those custom Suicks are sweet! The colors are great! Plus their a Suick so you can't go wrong! I hope to see plenty of people there! To set this up takes a ton of time and effort! I know the people setting it up and they are great people and most of all they love musky fishing more than anything! There is going to be great people and a great atmosphere! I can't wait!

The northern Wisconsin experts have the roads and parking lots in great winter condition so don't let that little snow fall keep you from the show.

Sure wish I didn't have to work all weekend. I would rather be working with John at Ross's booth and helping Bill with Tooth Tamer. Next year I'll be there(if it means burning a vacation day or two) to help those guys, and also have a booth for our club(Consolidated Musky Club Inc.) with documentation on local stocking efforts etc. along with some hard to find GP Thumper AC 10's and AC 16's, and assorted Rylures, local guide service.

Have fun at this show everyone!!

Been to a ton of musky expos,, the patriot center was/is the most perfect venue/area for a musky expo.
everything like new shape, connected to a hotel on one side and a shopping mall on the other,,I know of a couple vendors who never drove or started their truck in three days because everythinhg is right there,,,,5 or 6 reasonable rates motels clustered together you could walk to,,great pizza place, sushi, culvers ,and other restaurants withinn walking distance,,Right across the parking lot a full size grocery store with a deli and liquor store that you can grab pop, beer, lunch meat for the show or your room all within walking distance

This show could grow even bigger the nice wide halls that rim the patriot center could house the boats making way for even more vendor booths not to mention the huge ballroom area.
already "'The BAR" night club that is a couple blocks away was impressed and has made the offer of hosting the swapmeet and on their own coin hiring a band of our recomendation for next year,, Guys from the show who went there said its a nice place with VERY nice scenery ,,,

Rich and Paul did a great job and Im amazed Rich didnt have the BIG one running around for 2 months sweating all the details that would help make it perfect for Attendee and vendor

Totally agree with all of the positive comments. Hats off to Rich, Penny and Paul for putting together a great show!
Perfect sized venue. I had about a three minute walk from my booth to my hotel room and there was beer carted out to the show floor right to the show goers and vendors alike!

We would like to thank everyone who either had a booth at the show or came through the door. Without everyone's participation and support, we could not have made it the success that it was.
A special thank you goes out to Steve Worrall. Your advice was greatly appreciated.
Also, thank you especially to our sponsors: Elk River Rods, Leinenkugel's Beer, Suick Lures, Dreamcatcher Bucktails and Tackle, and Tuffy Boats. All of you helped make this show possible.
Hope to see all of you next year at the Wisconsin Musky Expo.

Paul, Rich and Penny
