The fish doesn't care what it looks like......But if it moves and makes noise, than it's food.

Nothing,it does't have to imitate anything.   If it moves in the water column and sounds right,  IT'S potentially FOOD!

FOOD!!!!
I always thought it looked like a duckling paddling like mad trying to catch up to mom.

What does a bucktail look like? You're thinking in terms of humans and food...it needs to look like what we know we're eating. But in terms of a fish that hunts from vibration and sound as much or more than from sight, and add to that a brain the size of a grape, and strong instinctual drive..."what it looks like" becomes a second or third consideration to the fish.

Whatever it is supposed to represent, it's made to look like it is going nowhere....FAST...

In my humble opinion, an object like that is easy to hit... and...as Doug Johnson says, "If it moves, it's food."

I always call it the bat... love these baits, one of my favorites of all time... love seeing that wake behind it and the fin flailing behind it....shazam!

It's a muskie angler torture device. I'm nervous enough as it is. I don't need to listen to *bloop, bloop, bloop, blip, bloop, bloop* getting closer to the boat. It's like a jack in the box, man. You sit there turning that handle, knowing that at any second that big ugly thing is going to come flying up at you and scare the crap out of you. The only thing missing is that cheesy music. Which, I might add, I often hear in my head when fishing with a creeper...

I got a 54.5 (my new personal best) on one and could really care less what that fish thought it was!

If you need to slow down to fish a creeper, listen to what it is telling you - "Doobie doobie doobie doobie..."
