When should you JIG?

I jigged for two hours last Saturday and was very carefull to do everything as Worrall tought me with the rod and reel and line and jig he set up for me.

Why did I not catch a fish?

Was it the wrong time frame?

Cloudy, calm, 55 degree temps....Deep weedline jigging. The same weedlines at the same time of year I have seen Steve move fish on jigs and loose fish on jigs. I too even caught one on a jig the year before on that spot.

Why did it not work for me then?

or is my lake a SEWER![]

When should you Jig?

When the girl asks you to dance...[]

Probably a lot more often then we want to admit. I'm possitive we should have been jigging 3 days ago.

Just in case someone actually wants to get a serious answer:

Jig anytime you feel like putting the lure in the Muskie's FACE, and stay with it. How may hours have you fished hair, or trolled, or casted a Slammer without a capture? Two hours is not necessarily a long time, if you know what I mean!

I will fish a jig when I am too old to cast a REAL muskie bait.

I agree with Mark.

You should Jig on St. Patrick's Day, when a girl asks, or if you've had a few too many.. [;)]

Right on Steve, how many of us have casted over the biggest fish in the system ? Dawgs along the bottom are deadly. And besides, the big girls love to stick their bellies in the mud.

BUT STEVE!!!!!!!!!!

Two hours jigging seems like 10 YEARS!

I will tell you something, I do now know every nook and crany of the weed edge.[;)]

I like to jig when i've tried everything else and am too tired to cast hard pulling spinnerbaits or crankbaits and don't want to leave the lake and know I wont' catch anything so why not take a nap. Honestly, I don't have the patience to do much jigging. I don't have enough confidence in it either. I throw jigs once in awhile, but not as often as I should.

That's Steve's secret to staying young...he is only 25 in jig years.

I tried it this spring and it's something I will do again before the year is up.

It sure beats putting your stock car on a frame jig and much cheaper too!
