I'm looking at making a Super D order this year and was wondering what you guys thing for sizes. Go big or go home? Or do the smaller size have a time/place? Planning on fishing LSC and smaller inland lakes so thinking the smaller ones might have a place in the small lakes.

For LSC I'd go with the MegaD (Pounder) & the MagSuperD's. The shallow versions are productive over the weed tops. I prefer the Musky Innovation Dawgs better because I like their color selection but they are overpriced. With the TI dawgs you'll need to fix the side fins so they will swim properly. All the TI dawgs that I have came with at least one of the side fins curled up due to how it sat in the packaging. I applied some heat to them in order to straighten out the fins.

I would stick with whatever is equivalent to a regular Bull Dawg and a Mag Dawg. Pounders would work, but I personally wouldn't have the confidence throwing them. What rod/reel/line you currently have will dictate what you are capable of using, as well.

Not even a bad snag---if you use them---change the hooks!
Ya, change the hooks & also replace/remove the triple split ring that you attach your line to. The triple split ring is too big for the eye of the bait & it restricts movement. A regular heavy duty split ring would work a lot better than the triple split ring.
I replaced all hooks & split rings on my TI dawgs.

Hi guys. I know you are not asking for this but it seems from the above comments the triple split rings need to go! I did my SuperDs with triple rings as most seemed to not be comfortable with the double rings on other swimbaits. I can easily make my next SuperDs with tempered stainless steel double rings too. Just a side question, do you generally like rings on the nose (if double split rings)? Please send me your comments to [email protected] Always happy to continually improve my baits to meet your expectations. All of the currrent Mag and regular SuperDs have the new hooks on them too vs what was on them.
