| I switched from Power Pro to Hi-Seas Grandslam braid last spring and loved it. Steve Heiting recomended it to me and I'm glad he did.
Best line I have used .
Good Luck,

Location: Davenport, IA | Tired the Suffix 832 last year. I only used it 1 or 2 times but I am very impressed. I've had a huge spool of Tuff Line XP for years and it is a great line. However, it does pick up water. That 1 strand of Gore material really does repel the water. It'll be my choice next season. |

Location: MN | Again, the Suffix 832 second to none. I like to run 100lb Cortland Masterbraid on my Trinidad so it lays better on the reel, but if they made 100lb 832, I would run that too. |

| Personally i hated the Sufix 832. It digs in like crazy, bleeds all over everything. The front my boat was covered in dye after spooling this stuff. Also, as i mentioned it digs into the spool like no other line i have ever used. never had this problem with Masterbraid, power pro or vicious. I cut it off every reel i had. Sorry, just my opinion. I have talked to others that experienced the same thing. |

| I use 832 high vis on everything, gary parsons once told me the high vis lines don't bother walleye 99% of the time and he seems to know what he's talking about, so i figure musky wont mind it either |

Location: NorthCentral WI | 832 is good line for sure. I used it last season on all reels except one. I did notice what Jackson saidThe line DOES have a tendency to dig further in the spool than some others, especially when it's brand new (like day one). Once a little bit of the coating wore off I never had issue with it.
I had some 832 leftover from last year and it's been working awesome on a couple of tip-ups I rigged with it too. Better than the cheap nylon braid or even the Sufix tip-up line. Although a lot more expensive.
I've already got two spools of 832 at home but I'll probably try the PowerPro SuperSlick this year on a reel too. |

| I've tried PowerPro, Tuffline XP and Suffix 832, all in 80lb over the past few years. Tuffline XP is my favorite, then 832, and then PowerPro. 832 is a close second to Tuffline XP, PowerPro is a distant third. |

| Got some 832 last year but I wasn't ready for new line at the time. It will be on this year; hopefully this weekend.
I'm sure hi-vis colors wouldn't matter, especially if it were tied to a fluorocarbon leader. I'm curious how much that would help for working the lures. I've never really line-watched when musky fishing, but you might be on to something.
Don, if one brand of braid is quieter than another I can't tell the difference. I wouldn't doubt that there is a difference, but I expect it to be very slight. |

Location: Grand Rapids, MI | Check out the Sunline FX2, it is the only braid I've ever used that starts round and is still round at the end of the season. The durability surpasses any line I've ever used. |

I know PowerPro used to be pretty loud on the guides but I hadn't used it for a few seasons, then last fall I bought one spool of 100 lb test PP and was very happy with it. I didn't notice the things I had remembered from PP, like the loudness and the color bleeding everywhere.
There are so many superlines these days. Not saying all are made equal but I tend to think this is like the Ford vs. Chevy debate. (which Ford will always win :)) Personal preference. |

I will probably go half Suffix and half Cortland this season. I would like to try the Hi Seas on a reel this year now. Who has the best price for the Hi Seas Grand Slam? Does anyone know if there is a local store in the Chicagoland area that carries it? |

Well if ur working dive and rise or jerk baits you can see the slack in your line a little easier and guesstimate where what the bait is doing at the moment |

Yeah. That may help. I was thinking it would be good for throwing Bull Dawgs and other big plastics deep. Maybe the multi-colored metered braid that's used for trolling and vertical jigging would work. PowerPro makes Depth-Hunter that goes up to at least 100lbs. There are a few other brands on the market. |

| ok well, I have used and like power pro extremely well, I also have ran masterbraid with great results. I spooled one up with 832 suffix last year and loved it, haven't had a chance to use it enough to see how long it stays that way though. If your line is digging in, either your line isn't tight enough on the spool, been there, or you need to quit putting so much mono behind it.......I learned my lesson with mono backers my first year, done away with that, started spooling all the way with braid.......I used cortland spectron one time and will NEVER use that crap again, questionable even on a catfish rod.....but the masterbraid held up fine , so my vote has to stay with power pro and suffix 832, all I have ran on my bass rods since the first time I used it is sufix siege mono, never had it fail me in the last 6 years, never tried the hi seas but have heard great things |

| I used to use Tuf-Line salt n pepper for years, but when I couldn't find it anymore I tried 3 others and decided on 2400 yard spools of Stren #65 and #100. Now, if it's got a baitcaster on it, it's filled with Stren Superbraid. From walleye casting and trolling to almost every bass application.....except jigs, then it's still Sten Clear Blue. |

Been using Cortland Spectra/Masterbraid for at least 10 years and really it like more than anything else.
But.....Anyone using Vicious? It is significantly cheaper in 300 yard spools and in bulk.. Just saying--if it is close--I would give it a try to save some cash.
What say you about Vicious?
Isn't that the line that Jim Saric sells on the Musky Hunter TV Show? |

Location: Minnesota | 80 lb. Tuf-Line has been the most dependable line for me. The only problem with it is it carries so much water. Summer time it isn't a big deal, but in the fall it makes for wet cold hands pretty quick. I didn't like power pro or earlier versions of Cortland. I am probably going to try some bronzeback this year along with another line, maybe 832 after reading some of these posts. If there is another line out there that is as dependable as Tuf-line without the water holding characteristics, I will use it. |

I switched from PowerPro to Vicious last year on the recommendation of a friend - and I hated it.
It spooled really well, and did not bleed one bit, but it picked up a LOT of water. After a few hours of casting, it was like getting a shower during every retrieve. Slightly irritating to get sprayed in the warmth of summer, but downright miserable on cold days in the fall.
I'm stripping it off the two reels I put it on and will try Masterbraid and/or the New PowerPro this year. |

| Vicious or Hi seas? Cant make up my mind. Have not heard that much bad about either line, but i havent heard much at all about either. Wondering what your guys opinion is? Had 832 last season and disliked it a lot. The color bled all over and turned my clothes and boat green. The line seemed to fray pretty bad to, had to retie 1 to 2 times a day. |

| irratating to say the least. As i mentioned, it looked like someone spray painted my boat. it was on my shirt, my hands, my carpet.. Never again on the 832. I couldn't stand it. Just wait til it digs in once and you have to spend time getting out the backlash. |

| The line bleeding thing happens with a lot of lines. 832 is now being made in white as well that would be a great choice. No one mentioned suffix performance braid which is crazy strong and round. I also love cortland masterbraid bronzeback, it is kind of flat but once again an unbelievably strong line that also like to hold some water. Over the last two years I have been drifting more towards the performance braid but will also continue to run cortland. |
