This may be a dumb question, (or 2) but why do I need this,..... and when do I need this.

What lures should I use with this leader ?? Can't I just put weight on the lure instead????
What are the weight of these leaders?

thanks, Jerome

Weighted leaders help keep lightweight bucktails down below the surface when burning them in. I make my own bucktails & I use extra weight so I don't need a weighted leader.

Weighted leaders will also help prevent a lure from blowing out while trolling at higher speeds.

Stealth Tackle makes a 1/2,3/4 and 1oz weighted leader.
I use them so I don't have to add weight to every bait and then i can use that same bait for shallow applications with out remodifying it. Lot of the baits i use are weighted and I use weighted leader to get them even deeper.
It keeps your bait down in the strike zone longer and some baits it gives a better or more action which causes more strikes. Alot of baits when you jerk them with weighted leader gives them a better hop.
The 1/2 oz is great on 9" suicks bobbies or similar baits also good on small bulldawgs and mini medussas. Can be used on small bucktails or spinnerbaits if you are fishing deeper.

the 3/4oz i run on Mag. bulldawgs,Reg Medussa's, 10" weighted suicks so I can dive them into deeper weed edges and rockpiles. Is also good on double 10's keeping them down.

The 1oz I run on mag dawgs, pounders,Medussas 10"suicks in the fall it really gets these baits down where the fish are. keeps double 10's deeper also when burning.
Good luck,

Louie had some. I tried them with jerk baits and they seemed to work just fine. Maybe he has some info for you.

Jerome, to answer one ? (why do I need them?) If you do not have any, you need them. I do not use them that much but when I do mostly on jerk baits
in the wind. I tend to buy things because they are for sale.
