Planning a trip up to Sabaskong Bay around the new Moon in July (July 18 is new moon). Normally we go in August which has been good, but we have a busy August so we are thinking about trying July. Generally how is the bite this time of year?

Thanks

Should be great. There will also likely be a lot of big fish up shallow, which is a lot of fun. If it's slow for some reason, move around and see if you can find water temps that vary a couple of degrees. Doubt you'll have too much trouble finding fish though. Tear 'em up!

If you're looking for a bait, had probably 50 followers/eaters on the Badwater Mogambo bucktails up there about that time last year. Gold/copper blades were money.

Went to Sabaskong for the first time last summer in July, we caught 11 for the week. I am going back this year also targeting the new moon phase in July. We averaged at least moving 20-25 fish a day.You will have a great time that time of year. We did well on larger spinnerbaits and topwaters.

Great time of year.

Breutzy may have had more muskie action if they hadn't been fooling around with walleyes part of the time. Eh, Breutzy? HA!

Should be fish on rocks, in the weeds and the rest of the usual places.

Find a place to stay and book it before it's too late. July is prime time for everything up here.

Good luck.

Justin, you are right about the fooling around part, not this year though, strictly muskies, unless I run into a walleye by mistake one night for supper.

Justin is right our July is almost full. Great time to chase Mukies around Morson. Book now or you won't get in.
