Location: Iowa | I have a mercury 200 opti on my boat. When I bought it, the prop was pretty dinged up. I have been looking for one to replace it. I found one with the same pitch, that has a serial number of 48-825865. The one on my boat is 48-825864. I was wondering what the difference is in the serial numbers?
Probably try to call a dealer tomorrow but I figure I would ask here to see if anyone knew on the forum.
Any insight would be appreciated.
Thanks, Jeremy |

I believe the one you have found with the 65 ending is a left hand rotation...

Location: Stevens Point, WI | You shouldn't need a serial number. It should say what it is, Tempest Plus, and the pitch should be written 21 p or 23 p etc. If the prop is on a fishing boat, it won't be a counter rotation prop. Those are for ski boats, multi-engine setups and saltwater rigs. |

| You shouldn't need a serial number.
Actually it's a good thing you checked that serial number as it saved you from making an expensive mistake. Even number = RH, odd number = LH.
You're looking at a LH prop, don't buy it. You need one with the same serial number as the one you currently have.
48-825864 23P RH
48-825865 23P LH

Location: Stevens Point, WI | If it's posted for sale, it should say what rotation. You are correct though, the serial number can be a good backup for sure. However, finding left hand rotation prop are pretty rare in freshwater. |

Location: Iowa | I just want to make sure I am looking at the right one i need for my boat. I don't want to buy one thats for counterrotation. I need to make sure it is standard. I was wondering if that was the case with the one I found.
Second question. The one I have now I believe has a flo-torq hub in it. do I have to stick with a flo-torq hub or will a flo-torq 2 hub on fit on it also?
